Hudson transmission tool

Anyone have a picture of J-448-1 gear retainer tool for 37 transmission? I am trying to figure out if the gear retainer is spread or what in order to pull the gear off the main shaft in the 37. If I could see a picture of the tool (maintenance manual has one but can't see the working end) I could get an understanding of how it works and make a tool like it.
