Preferred Valve Spring Compressor?
What's the preferred valve spring compressor type that works best on a Hudson engine? I'm rebuilding my 262 this winter, and wanted to pick one up.
It seems to me that the best types would be either 1) the old C-clamp style, or 2) the 'scissors' type that accesses from the side. This would be my first choice...seems like it would work better, and it's less expensive, but I've never done a Hudson engine before, so thought I'd ask the experts.
Hudsonly,
Doug

I have used both. I prefer my Scissor type though the C clamp gets em' out quicker. My scissor type has the thumb screw. Its only 12 valves so its not bad. I picked up my scissor one for 5 bucks on ebay.0

I got a cheapo Craftsman one from Sears some years ago and worked fine on my Hudson.0

Thanks for the replies. I'll pick up one or the other, now that I know either will work. I might still have to mail order it, all the so-called 'automotive' tool selections around town only seem to carry the little cheapos designed for OHV's.
