Wilkap installation update
Latest news on Wilkap adapter installation and a problem. Wilkap leaves a broad flange on the driver's side of the adapter plate and it interferes with the Pitman arm (preventing engine installation) and the adjustable steering link. I had to remove about 3/4" from the plate and at the bottom, I had to cut a hole so the link could pass through. Not a big deal but I will inform Wilkap of this problem. I just finished fabricating the mechanical clutch linkage using brackets etc. available at any good hardware store. Hopefully, aside from some adjustment, it will do the job. I did not use the frame mounted "gorilla" spring as its geometry did not work with the fabricated linkage.

Thanks for the info. Is there any reason to have the flange sticking out like that? Looks like a guy could just cut on around on the same radius as on the bottom, and eliminate that whole projection, unless there's something behind it that we can't see.0

Curious about the gray material around a shaft with 3 black wire ties around the material? Just wondering. Thanks, Good work, Bob0

The material around the pin is to protect it from rust. That part of the pin would ordinarilly being passing through the brake pedal (I'm using power brakes) and original master cylinder (now on power brake booster).0
