Depends on what you mean by salvageable. I've got a 48 Super 8 that has been stripped for parts. Only thing left is the body, a stuck engine, and the frame. Email me at HETjasper3@charter.net and I'll send you some flicks. (take the HET off) I have removed the front spindles, rear end, transmission, brake drums, generator, starter, and all the glass is gone. I have the rear end, gas tank, rear window and other smaller parts that came off the car that I'm saving for spares, but if you're interested, I may part with them too.0

I like that: "Price is $235.00 firm" . Not $230, not $225, $235.00 FIRM!!
It's worth more than that in parts.

Jeff,
I haven't gotten a reply from my e-mail. Please give me a call about your 53 Hornet @ (310)502-5335. Niels0 -

I have a 1950 Pacemaker tudor Brogham that is the same style as the "to be crushed" car. It has no interior, but has a Mopar rear end and front sub w/disc brakes. Has all glass but 2 cracked side windows. Body is in good shape with minimal rust. Have most all of the trim. Up on 4 tires, sitting in my back yard. Had a 460 Ford motor & C6 tranny that was installed by idiots. I pulled it and it can go with the deal. I would take $750 for it all.
Also have a 1953 Hornet fordor with Twin H power, all complete, but if you are wanting to do the hot rod thing, the Pacemaker would be a good one for that.
Billy0 -
well I only considered trouwin in another motor. I would keep the twin h if it was rebuildable. Thats what is in my wasp. I saw the pic of the hudson that was choped. The scam in another post. What would ya want for it?0
-
Well, I thought about takin' the 308 twinH and all the stock Hudson stuff and puttin' it in the Pacemaker, but thats a lotta work. I really like the look of the '50 Pacemaker and I like the 308 setup. Been askin' $750 for the Pacemaker & a grand for the '53 Hornet fordor, but would take $1500 for the pair.

I'm new to this board, but not new to Hudsons, been around them all my life. Just haven't gotten around to one for myself until now. I too am looking to buy a 2dr stepdown. Naturally I'm looking for a bargain. I would like a rolling chassis, decent straight if possible body, repairable normal rust is okay, glass, front grille and both bumpers. Rust pitted grille and bumpers are okay. I don't care if all the trim is gone, interior, instruments, engine or transmission either. Actually, someone's parts car might fill the bill. I'm looking for something to play with, that's why I'm not interested in the primo stuff. I'd also like to buy or otherwise obtain two 308 engines reasonably complete. I'd like to restore one for my engine collection and play with the other one.
I'm in Stillwater Oklahoma. I've found some pretty good buys, but damn, they're far away from me. So, needless to say, I'm looking for Hudson leads as well.
If the 50 pacemaker deal falls through I might be interested.
Thanks,
mike0 -
Mike, have you checked sources like Hemmings Motor News for Hudsons? You didn't mention if you were a member of the H-E-T but if not, you might want to join, so you can check the car ads in the newsletter....also, you might want to get in touch with the local chapter out there to see what might be for sale locally (find out how to contact them through the H-E-T's home page http://www.hudsonclub.org/ ). Often you learn about cars through the grapevine that aren't listed for sale yet, nationally. If you've already tried these sources, I don't have too many more ideas.0

Both cars are still up for sale, on a "first come" basis. Got a few interested, but nothing locked in yet.
My Pacemaker has a fairly slick body with not much rust. left rear window is cracked, right pass. door glass is cracked. I have replacement windshields and extra rear glass. Some minimal floor damage, but no real body damage. The top was mashed in, but most of it popped right back out. All fenders are solid, front cap is good, grill complete, and both bumpers are there. Front bumper is real good. I will try to get some pics weather permitting.
Billy0 -
Billy,
I am interested in those two Hudsons. Pictures would be nice. Should we move to private e-mail?
Thanks,

I'll try to get some pics soon. The weather has turned bad, and I didn't get up early enough to get any done today. When this front moves thru, and the sun comes out, I will try to get some shots of both cars. Just been busy tryin' to hustle up a few bucks. Got a Ford 460 motor & trans that goes with the Pacemaker that I forgot to mention.
