That car is gorgeous. The engine has been upgraded with half inch head studs plus a mallory dual point ignition and high voltage coil plus the power steering off a 54 is nice. This is going to be a great buy for someone. Buy it do some adjustments a coat of wax and off to the car show.0

GORGEOUS!! Dan's about right, 18K should be about right. It's too bad they didn't put the woodgraining back, though!!

Do the 53's have woodgraining ? I thought only the 52's had that.0

This is the type of car I'd like to get to do a full restoration with the same or more detailed documentation than the 49 Resto-Rod I'm doing now.
Oh...to start with something like this ride...maybe someday!0 -

The '51's and 52's had a pattern called "leathergraining." '48-'50 had blond wood graining. '53's and "54's were simply painted. Walt0 -
Thanks . THis sure looks like a beauty.0

You can tell that the owner is authentic and sincere. I would rather buy from a guy like this than from one of the reputed "dealers". Niels0

Sorry 'bout that . . . spoke out of turn, there. That's what I love, though, I learn something new everyday. That's just one more reason I'll probably never have a '53 . . . like the "wood" touch.

My '50C8 has blue/gray leather graining, the only one I have seen since most are wood grain.0

The thing I find most interesting is this:
"The only mechanical change to the car that is not stock 1953 Hudson is that it has been fitted with early 1954 Hudson power steering with corect everything including pulleys, pump, ram, mounts and proper color (power steering makes an early Hornet a "dream driver" around town)."
I had no idea that any model stepdown had power steering as originally shipped. I also have a stock '53 sedan, and if I were inclined to do any mods, this would probably be the very first thing I'd change.0 -

Any chance that anyone in the CLub would be willing to take a look at this car if they live close by ?
I live on the East Coast and my Dad Seems to be interested. I would truly appreciatte the opinion of a Club member. Thanks for listening.0
