Each year around the 4th a group of hot rodders put on a big party in the northern most city in Utah. Each year they give away a hot rod. It always costs a bit of money to get in so I normally pass on the show. But, this year my wife and I (and one grandson) did a walk by. There were two Hudson's amoung the 900 cars. The red 38 almost passed me by, but, I noticed the rear licence plate. The stepdown belongs to a HET members grand son. The grand son is 6.....

:woohoo: 2 Hudsons!!!!!!!!! WE SHALL OVERCOME!!!

    Eventually. LOL

In all honesty I am glad to see Hudson out and about - it's the only way people are going to know what they are. Realize this - anybody under the age of 54 was not around when the the last Hudson rolled off the AMC assembly line in Kenosha.

    Sobering thought, isn't it!!!!

Last week after receiving plates for our 52 Hornet I took it for a short drive, the first since it was restored (still a few details left). I spent an hour at a friends upholstery shop. While there two men, well past 54 :) were thrilled to see a Hudson. One said that, "I haven't seen a Hudson in ages." It was fun answering all sorts of questions about the history of the car, the restoration, the engine, the upholstery, etc. Later as I drove home people would point at the car, give me a thumbs up or wave :) ..... I assume these signals were for the Hudson and not in regard to my driving.

Congratulations getting it back on the road. Doesn't that make you feel good. All the recognition puts a smile on your face and you want to keep driving. Will you share some pictures with us? Any chance of seeing you and the Hudson in Okla.?

    Have a good day

  • Drive it across this country and every time you stop at a rest area, be prepared to spend an hour or better answering questions, and you will always hear, my father, uncle, or a friend had one. In our drive across America, 53 Hornet Club Coupe, I allow 2 hours for question time every day. Cover 3,100 miles in 6 days. This year will be our 12 trip, how about it ALEX? Walt.
