37 transmission shift question
I've now got 3 transmissions to make sure I wind up with one good one for the 37 PU. In looking at the shift mechanism that prevents you from shifting without pressing the clutch, I noticed the "balls" were stuck in the one I am working on and I sprayed some lube in and finally got them out. Would it be a good thing to do away with that set up and the linkage involved? Or just clean it all up and adjust accordingly ---

Leave things alone. The interlocks are there for a reason. However, it would pay to check the end play in the 2nd gear assembly. The rear thrust washer has usually disintegrated, and the white-metal insert is usually worn out.0

Contact me if you need a semi finished white metal bearing and a thrust washer. I had a few extra made when I did up my box. Regards, Barry0
