Really stressing
Hello I got my head gasket and put it on the motor with the head but I used the torque sequence from a 49 brougham on accident instead of from a wide 262. Do you think I will be okay or am I screwed. I really don't want to spend another 75 dollars on a head gasket.
Please help I'm stressing bad!!!

You should be O.K. with that. I think both engines have the same bolt pattern/number of head bolts and the same size bolts, therefore the same torque settings. After all, all they did was to widen the block 1/16" to enlarge the water jacket. Basically, you start with the center head bolt and work outwards in a widening circle.0

I did middle bolt out through the center. Then the middle out through the passenger, then middle out through the driver0

Lol looking back on my previous message I realized I probably didn't make much sense. The torque sequence which was supposedly off of a brogham was start in the middle section if the middle bolts. And work out then do the same thing for pass the. Driver side0

What sequence is this? It's different from the factory. I only torqued to 650 -
I posted that its a factory note on an updated procedure for torquing a head down.0
