Restoration Complete, few more pics

Here are a few pictures of the interior. Ordered everything from Kantor but had it installed at a shop.

The 308 engine is rebuilt and stock except for a Clifford Performance dual exhaust header running two into one. I wish now I had gone with the duels.

I put sound deadener in all the doors, floor and in the roof. I did most of the stainless polishing myself thanks to coaching from Rick Monroe.

The car was completely gutted, wire brushed by hand, YUK, treated with rust converter then two coasts of rust preventative paint, chassis and interior. I also completely rewired it.

Looks great, be proud !! Richie
  • Great job. I am restoring a 54 Hornet Sedan and looking at yours gives me extra push to keep going. Everyone that gets done keeps the rest of us still working a lift.

    So thanks.

Very nice looking car. I assume the Kantor carpet fit well? I've heard some complain about their carpets.

    GREAT looking car!
  • Dougson, re the Kantor Kit, the headliner and the upholstery were fine. The carpet however was a different matter. My installer had to get creative and heat it then stretch it to fit properly. I mentioned this earlier on the forum and someone responded that they might have sent me carpet for a 53. I frankly don't know if there is a difference but he seemed to imply that there was. The carpet was simply not wide enough to go up the sides in the front.
