    Wow, what a collector's item!

I could be wrong but I think they also offered a "HUDSON" illuminated sign. Not long after I first joined the H-E-T Club in 1971, I visited then-president Laurel Hanson in Indiana. While we were chatting in his garage, a fellow Hudsonite stopped by to show us his latest treasure -- HUDSON and TERRAPLANE illuminated glass signs just like this one! He had recently liberated them from an old Hudson dealership he'd discovered. They had been gathering dust up in the rafters, above the parts bins and shelves. His advice to Laurel and I, that day: "Always look UP!"
  • Yes there was also a HUDSON lighted sign. In fact Ken Poynter has one of those....These signs were availabe to the dealers in 1933 for the large sum of $7.99 each..

If you don't mind, I'd be curious to know what it was worth (ballpark figure)...
  • Went to a person with a Terraplane. He had been after me to sell for about 15 years or more..$1150. Could probably gotten more on feebay, but I wanted a Hud person to have it. rd

How big (long) was this sign?
  • I'm still looking for an original postwar Hudson "teardrop" "sales service" or "parts service" sign. No one had one for sale at the OKC show though there were a few new reproductions available. Glad to hear someone got an apparently nice original Terraplane sign at OKC. Wish I had seen it while I was there. And yes, how big is it?
  • Approx 3 to 4 feet long

I have an original dealership showroom neon sign, in 2 colors saying:
    "THIS TIME IT'S
    HUDSON"
it is in good working condition which I'd like to sell. This sign is designed to be hung in a window & read from outside.
Got it from zone distributorship in Billings, Mt. in the late '60s still in original shipping crate (those were the GOOD OLD DAYS when some Hudson dealers had become AMC dealers & still had their Hudson parts stashed)!!!!!!!
Problem is I can't/won't ship it due to fear of breakage. It's in Arizona.
Might be able to bring to All Calif. Meet in San Simeon if have potential buyer as have a station wagon I could transport it safely in.
Not knowing how to post photos in here, changed my "avatar", LOL, so you can see it; it's about 4' across, about 2 - 2 1/2' high.
