Anyone have a good formula for replicating Jefferson Green and the corresponding Beige shade for a 51 Hornet?

try Hibernia Restorations in N. J. - they had/have all the Hudson formulas back into the '20s + I was even able to get nitroceluose paint from them so can provide not only the formula but the paint itself.

I agree with Pete. Hybernia made perfect match in lacquer in Boston Ivory for our 52 from the color number.

Hybernia seems to be able to come up with pigments that our local supplier can not. I purchased the acrylic lacquer locally for our 54HH, Nick's 48C8 and our 36 panel delivery.

maybe the laws are more lax on that in New Joisey than in Pa.
I remember Bill Albright would come down to Escondido & get his paint at the auto. paint store there as all he could get in L. A. County was water based (Escondido, my old stomping grounds, is in San Diego County).

Doesn't surprise me, Pete. California laws are different about paint than the rest of the country. EPA thrives there.

Ok, it looks like O'Reilys was able to match the old paint codes with a Dupont code. It is an acrylic enamel and for now I got it in single stage. Here are the Dupont codes and the mix for reference:

    Jefferson Green Poly: YM164 K
    845J Transp Yellow 871.7
    830J HS Fast Green 221.2
    813J Med Course Al 38.6
    150K B/C Balanceer 1357.1
    175K Binder 957.5

    Corinthian Cream: YS413 K
    801J HS White 834.2
    843J Bright Yellow 205.3
    807J LS Black 147.0
    853J Red Orange 14.5
    150K B/C Balancer 1954.6
    175K Binder 600.5

I got one quart of the Jefferson Green to paint the inside of the engine compartment while I have the engine out. I will report back on what I think of the mixture. I did check out Hibernia and it looks like they might be about the same price. The quart was around $115, Nason 441-21 Reducer around $20 per gallon, and the Master Pro 8105 activator around $10 (small can). I just dont have to pay shipping and I always love dealing with a local store.

Ok, I felt that I need to update. When I got the Jefferson Green mix below on the car, it was WAY off. Hard to tell when it is in the can whether it is close or not. I had the paint matched again and here was the mix result.

    O'Reilly Auto Parts

    764521 K CC: Chromabase BC Alt: CF01
    Mix size: 32 oz

    832J Green 64.5
    4530S Flop Control Agent 47.3
    805J Jet Black 26.9
    881J HS Yello oxide 19.0
    891J Transox Red 14.4
    810J Fine Aluminum 12.6
    756A B/C Balancer +670.0
    758S Binder +60.0
    813J +7.5

Seems like a complex mix. I just didn't want folks using the mix below with out putting the better mix on.
