Got Terraplane Blues?
Do you recall Skipster's posts concerning his "Terraplane Blues" as a result of the questionable quality of the shop doing the engine rebuilding for his '36 Terraplane ute? I don't know how that was resolved, but Skip now has a different version of the "Terraplane Blues". I have just received Skip Sail's new CD release, "Dead Folk's Music", on which he does a bang-up job with his National Resophonic guitar on Robert Johnson's famous "Terraplane Blues". That bottleneck blues piece alone should be reason enough for you to get a copy of the CD, but there are 19 more selections included as well. A little booklet comes with the CD in which each song is explained, along with the instrument on which it is played. There are even pictures of his Terraplane ute and many of the istruments used on the recording. Skip is a very accomplished player of stringed instruments, and he has a great voice for singing those old blues numbers as well. Skip is reluctant to do much self-promotion, so I thought I'd let you know about the great talent this guy has. Maybe he will come on the forum now and tell how to get a copy of his CD. Please support Skip's efforts!
