To a new clutch. Seems like I read that you need to add more than the manual calls for (37 Terraplane) but I can't find the post.

for a new clutch, one might contemplate 2 possible scenarios:
    1. what is the "new" clutch - if new out of the box from Wildrick then you should be able to just install it with the called for 6 oz.
    2. if been sitting around for years corks probably all dried up. In that case I used to put the clutch in something shallow, like a pie pan, put the disc into it, then submerse the plate in clutch fluid, let the corks soak up some of for a day or so, then let it drain off & install.
If concerned about possible level, after a week or so of use, drain it & refill it with proper amount.
Special tools I made for doing all this, as tricky to get at to do:
I got a pc. of heater hose, or as close as I could to the proper diameter, then cut it down, beveled, so it would go into the one of the holes on the front of the pressure plate & not leak. I'd use a kitchen measuring cup to put in exactly 6 oz. (used it also when draining a clutch to see if it had proper amount).
Other little trick, after draining use big screwdriver of pry bar to turn engine until drain hole up to inspection hole above starter. After 6 oz. put in, slowly turn it back down until you can put the plug back in - it won't leak out & you can tighten the plug from there.

Another tip - when removing the drain plug stuff a rag in the opening below the drain plug. If you don't the drain plug WILL fall down to the bottom. (This is when you have the drain plug at the top and are removing it to either drain the clutch or refill after draining.

It's designed to frustrate you by doing that. :P

Even if you get a new plate from Dr Doug, I would still put it in a small shallow dish and cover with clutch fluid for a few days before installation, the new corks will soak up some fluid , if you do this, it should not be necessary to top after after a short time.Lack of fluid cause shudder, too much fluid causes slipping.

I used a length of PVC tube duct-taped to a small plastic funnel and poured the right amount in from a measuring jug.
