I'm heading out in the early AM for San Simeon, CA for the All CA Hudson Meet. One of our members left this AM trailering his '33 Terraplane 8. I plan to drive my '36T 4 dr sedan. Picking my way through the LA traffic will be a little hairy, but a chapter member is riding along with me. If there is a computer up there I will post some pictures.

Richard, I don't know which way you planned to go thru L.A. but if I were you i'd take the 15 north all the way to the 210 west, This will put you thru Pasadena traffic but it's usually a little lighter. When you get up by the Rose Bowl the 210 turns north, if you go straight you'll be on the 134. take the 210 all the way to the 5 north and follow it to the 126 west. Follow the 126 all the way to 101 you'll be about where Oxnard and Ventura meet, Telephone Rd. This might be a little easier for you.

Marconi, that is my usual route, the foothill frwy. Sometimes I take the 118 off of the 210 up into Ventura Co. This is all my old stomping grounds, I grew up in LA and I watched them build the freeways. I try to avoid, "the belly of the beast!" Are you going to the All CA meet? It is usually a blast.

the 6-54 engine is the largest engine Hudson ever produced with approx. 420 cu. inches. Hudson only built the model 6-54 for 3 years, '13, '14, & '15.
This body style is called a "torpedo" & was driven here from Morro Bay, a RT of about 50 miles.
Another HET member has one of these very rare & powerful early Hudsons in San Diego. He has his sorta "souped up" & was clocked at 74 mph once.

Carl Weber has a 1915 Six-54 Touring - those things were road locomotives. Huge machines. 135" wb and weighed around 4000 pounds.

I did. I will post them once I get home. We are driving up highway 1 (101) until we get to Canada. Should be home in about a week. By the way, the Horsless Carriage Club was also having a meet near there and I got a few shots of their Brass era cars including a Hudson.

Many very nice cars, a great collection of Hudson fans and a wonderful venue. :) Glad I was able to attend.

I also had a great time driving the reborn "Yellow Peril" 50 C6 Cv down from San Rafael to San Simeon and all the way back home with the top down on Highway 1. It was the people that made
    it great.

The pictures are not comeing up. I must be doing something wrong or the procedures have change. Will someone please refresh my failing memory with the correct procedure to post picture. I'll even have to go back and try to change the picture titles. I got lazy and just put all the pictures from the national to the present under one heading. I will appreciate any assistance.

Also, the procecdure to post pictures in a group. It takes alot of time to scroll through all the pictures to get the Calif meet pictures and post one picture and scroll thru them again to post another picture.

    HETcleescars@yahoo.com drop the HET

    Thanks in advance. Lee O'Dell

The San Simeon meet is a great family meet. We try and go every year because there is something to do for everyone. Even the kids. Sean's (now famous) annual marshmallow toastingin the evening. :)

The hotel is across the street from the ocean too.

Here are a few of the photo's that I took. It was a great meet..... We were lucky to have the Horseless Carriage Club stop by with a few of their brass era cars. And, as you can see, I was on the road for a bit of time. Drove all of highway 1 and 101 up to Portland...
