It looks as though on some there was a 2nd hole to the right of this one, but this one doesn't have it punched out.

Someone was commenting the other day that they thought the new cars coming out with a start button was cool - I laughed! This person didn't know a lot of the older cars came with this type of system.0 -
Well learn something new everyday! lol I guess the button on the floor is the headlight dimmer switch then?

That's ok - I had to ask on the forum what the little amber light was for on the left side...0 -
My 50 Commodore 6 Has its factory foglight switch to the right of the starter button. It turns on like the headlight switch that is to the right of the steering wheel.0

That is one of the following:
a.) Ejection seat button
b.) Smoke screen button
c.) Oil slick button
d.) Submarine button
e.) The tree cutting down button
f.) Spridal and Chim Chim trunk opener button
Hummm. Perhaps I am confusing things with James Bond and Speed Racer0 -
did you find the button under the gas pedal yet?0

I thought it was the hydrosolater actuator which scrambles the frooglie particulates for the digital rejiggerator.

Speaking of the push starter, no one has mentioned it yet, but I saw a convertible with a starter button. Unfortunately, Doc doesn't have one. Was this a dealer option or strictly an aftermarket thing? The ones I've seen (Jay's included) certainly look factory-installed.

Hudson got rid of the starter button for the 52 model year. They went to key start. The 51 Hornet has it. These are factory items.0

Studebaker had the starter switch under the clutch pedal in the early 50’s. About 50 years ahead of the DOT mandated “clutch pedal must be depressed before starting†feature required on modern stickshifts. Packard also used a gas pedal start switch (mounted on the carb) until around 1953.
Funny to see a new Lexus advert touting the “start buttonâ€â€¦.everything old is new again…lol.0 -
And the Viper, new Mopars in general, Honda, Ford GT, etc, etc...0

Your mom had an excellent Buick Wagon! Do you still have that old thing? It sure was a beauty. :cool:0
