What happened to this 47 C8 vert?

My dad dragged this car out of a national forest in PA in the late 70's. It was on it's side with no wheels on it. My dad pulled the front bumper & wheels off his C8 Sedan and pulled this wreck home with a towbar for almost 2 hours. The park rangers thought he was crazy for messing with it :) Gene Ramsey bought it as shown here, then what? I've wondered for the last 30 years or so...

PS - Thanks Ken C for the great pics & memories :)

Don't happen to know the SN do you? There is a nice restored one in the Northeast Car Museum in Norwich, NY, only 40 mi or so from PA. It belonged to the late George Staley, who no doubt restored it as he was the main benefactor of the museum, which has the largest collection of Franklins in the world, most of them Staleys. Also a Deusy, Essex etc.

Visit it sometime if you get a chance. I had my 52 Hornet in there for a year. Intersection of Rts 12 and 23 in Southern NYS
