Folks, IMHO the best Hudson book of the lot is this one by Richard Langworth. Checkout the ebay auction. http://cgi.ebay.com/Hudson-BOOK-Langworth-Hornet-Italia-NASCAR-trucks-car_W0QQitemZ4595654385QQcategoryZ378QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Of course I'm a little bit prejudiced here. Langworth did a great job with his book - put together with my General Information Handbook for Hudson Built Automobiles, you've got a winner, I think. If you also have Butlers book - the trio work well together.

I just did a major overhaul of the Hudson section - added more pictures, electrical data for 1913-1915, lot of option and accessory lists, etc, from 1940 thru 1957. Adding some stuff to the Essex section at the moment. Hopefully I'll have it done before I leave for Memphis the 18th.

Can supply a copy on CD for $10.

I have a copy of the Langworth book and of the 3 major Hudson books I think it is the best read....draws you into Hudson's postwar history a lot and you get a good sense of what it was like for those that lived it.
  • This version is a first edition which to book lovers is a great thing but to Hudnuts is not so good as in later editions Langworth added more info to the appendix's so the later editions have more info. I have a later edition copy myself.
  • If you have the dust jacket it has a different cover than the later edition. On the credits page mine says. "This is a reissue of the 1977 original edition with corrections and revisions added". It was printed in 1993. So you have a first edition.
  • If you can believe it I got my copy at a dealer up here that deals with pre 30's Ford parts. I went in to look and it was in the bargain bin. He looked releaved to be selling it. Me, I laughed all the way home.
