Dashing through the snow...

It's that time again! We're getting our first snow here in the metro area in Colorado. So, time to post those winter Hudson pictures.
Mine 'can' make it through the snow. But I am in desperate need of a new heater core, if you couldn't tell from my foggy windows. 60 year old solder just doesn't like me. I have plans to put a new core from a 77 Ford car in. Should fit, just reqires another hole on the drivers side of the heater box and a new mounting plate. Using a modern core because I'm running a 16lb radiator cap.

I don't think your headgasket will be too happy with the 16 lbs. of pressure.0

Head seals just fine.0

Original is 7lbs. Running a higher pressure will get you improved cooling and give you more margin before boilover. Aside from the heater core, which frankly, showed signs of previous leaks, my cooling system has been working great.0

If it's snowing in the Southern Rockies, It can't be far behind here. I was thinking of making mine a year rounder(lots of boxliner ,powdecoating and galvanizing during the build) since the car that the Hudson is replacing is a 12 month ride. Some Arctic Claws,a posi rear and a winter front and off I go.0

Slim I am coming down and you and I are going to open a Private Detective agency and will tail perps in your T'Plane and I will hang on the running boards when we are chasing them down.0

Don't they use salt on the roads in your neck of the wood?

Last uear was one of the wettest winters on recored here in Utah. We had snow for skiing before Thanksgiving. We had a big snow storm for trick or treat time... This year, no snow yet (we gave it all to Colorado). I plan to have the car out as soon as we get some snow but for now you will just have to wait. The roadster pickup is being fitted for new top and side curtains just so we can be ready for those cold morning runs to McDonalds....0
