Hudson Service Posters
It was suggested to me that I should repost this in the Hudson Forum as opposed to my original "General" forum post as it may be more interesting to the Hudson collectors.
Here is the original post:
I have recently discovered 31 posters (24” X 37”) that my uncle had saved from when he worked at a Hudson dealership in Cincinnati. They are “New” amd have been in the original mailing tubes since 1950-1951? And I just removed them and photographed them to be able to share with anyone that has interest in them. They are all different but primarily have a “service” theme to them, such as “We sell and install Hudson Fram oil Filters”, “Fall Tune-up”, etc, although some are generic like “Merry Christmas” and ” New Year Greetings ‘51”. The colors are very vivid. The posters all have numbers on the base and were made by the Litho Paint Poster Co in Chicago. I’m searching for the best way to sell these items. I can send some or all of the photos, if anyone is interested. I have attached a couple of photos in this email.
I can be reached by email

Beautiful. How much do you want or one?

Mike, right now, I'm looking to sell the lot as I do not have the resources to find the collectors. I am early in the process so I'm reluctant to have people pick and choose. That may be the wrong approach as I might find 31 Hudson enthusiasts easier than finding one who either wants them all for his personal use or for resale.
The posters are all very vivid and have a varied topic for each one. If you want I could send you a PM that would have all of the posters, but it takes 5 emails as they are large files.
Let me know if that is what you desire. For the lot I'm asking $35000 -
PM would be great. Thanks!0

those 2 you posted sure are nice. i would love to have some, but i don't have deep pockets enough to buy the lot! wish i did. i bought one close to those off ebay a year or so ago, i really enjoy it. be sure to let everyone know if you get down to selling individual ones. i'm sure you would several takers. you may be able to sell the lot like you are wanting to. if you email them to anyone who can, it would be great if someone would post them here for us all to look at for kicks.0

please PM me also or email to: autoappraise@bellsouth.net
thanks!0 -
I've looked and have not figured out how I can PM wothout your email address. I am also looking to find a way to load a folder of all of these poster pictures for all to see.0

Wow- those look interesting. I'd love to see the rest of them. I wonder if the best ones could be reproduced- maybe sell them through the club store. It be great to hang a couple in my garage.0

I have loaded all of the pictures into an album named "Hudson Service Posters", but do not know if anyone else but me can see them. It's not clear in the forum just how to share albums. I wanted to put in the Hudson Photo Gallery but am unable to figure it out. If you desire I could PM the copies anyone interested, but would prefer to utilize the album rather than constantly email 31 pictures.
If anyone can help me out with how to share, it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks0 -
After looking for a while it appears that if one clicks on a members name above the Garage Logo in a message you can see their profile and you can see that I have loaded an album that is viewable by all.0

those posters are awesome! thanks for posting the folder so we all can enjoy them. let me know if you decide to sell them individually. i see several i would love to have but i can't justify buying the whole lot. that and i don't have that much spare cash, but i could prob buy 2 or 3. either way, thanks for sharing them.0

Those are really beautiful and colorful posters. I see that 13 of them has either the Hudson symbol or the word Hudson in them and 16 of them dont mention Hudson in any way. It seems to me the ones that mention Hudson in some way will be more desirable for the Hudson guys.0

Rob, I agree that the "Hudson Posters" should have a real appeal to Hudson collectors, although all the posters came from Hudson. The others, I would think might have a larger audience since they do not say Hudson, but certainly should have attraction to collectors of automobile memorabilia. I'm just starting out with these to see if I could dispose of the entire lot. Have had some interest from"Poster Companies", but I believe so far they want them for almost nothing so they can sell for big bucks. I'll have to decide in the next couple of weeks if I want to sell individually.
Thnaks for looking at them and for your comments.0 -
Yes, let us know if you decide to sell inidivually in WTN or HET club store, I'd be interested in a few0
