FYI

To some peoples amazement around here I really use my old Truck 'As a Truck' when ever the need. The 8 ft Bed comes in real handy and the rear has never sagged, even when carried bags of sand & cement..... (They dont realize that I put plastisized coreboard & towels down to protect the finish).Their stare's make my day....

That makes two of us ol racer. Jethroe (46 Huudson pickup) 65years and me 79 years were made to work and we're still at it. We haul hay and wood chips (bedding) for my wife's ponys.

It is neat to see these pictures of Hudson PU's pulling Hudsons. Mybe Press will share pictures of his PU pulling his race car at the drag strip in the day.

Dave- just curious, because I do a lot of towing (mostly tractors and farm equipment, but the '48 coupe several times)- What kind of hitch do you have on the pickup? Weight-distributing "receiver" type? I can get away without it on 1 ton diesel tow rig, but can't imagine getting by with a simple hitch on a Hudson pickup.

Yup, cleaning out the woods. Emptied the guys out of the weigh shack at the scrap yard. They wanted to know if I was gonna leave the whole thing, lol

With an almost perfect 4X8 bed Hudson trucks are more useful than a lot of modern ones, just not passenger friendly. Modern pickups are the opposite...passengers come first.

Yep, Aaron - designed to haul 110 pound Mama down to the store and back. Most offerings are just about useless.

Back in the '70s I had a heavy half-ton (1/2 ton on a 3/4 ton frame) 1964 International pickup truck. At the time we were cleaning out my Dad's wood lot. I regularly filled the 4 x 10 x 2 foot bed, plus side boards above rails and hauled wood out over a woods road. Close to a full cord of wood. No problems.

I love to see trucks working.

I'm hoping to use my truck & trailer to make a parts run to NY just before the 2012 National and bring a bunch of parts to the swap. Possible if I stay on task:unsure:

Just need to rewire, rebuild the front end, redo the brakes...

Nice to see your truck being used like in the past !
It worth to be rebuild but then nobody would use it this way anymore, too worried about the paint...
