Looked at NADA but find it hard to believe 24,500.00 for high value as I bet the trim alone would cost 4,000.00 + to have re-plated.
This car is a solid mostly complete car with surface rust. Top bows are in good condition, interior needs to be re-done and missing back seat. Trim was re-plated and stored several years ago along with new engine and overdrive tranny.
Fellow is wanting 10,000.00.

  • Would have to see it or it's rust, but if you have the time, energy, and money it sounds like a very fair price. I'm running a little short on the 3 things I mentioned it would take or I would be chasing it too!!
  • There has been a fellow selling a 1940 Super Six convertible for over a year.
New paint, top, and leather interior.
Cannot remember if the motor or trans were gone through as well.

I think that his asking price was around $23k.

Personally I think that they are real lookers. As to market price, it rarely makes sense to me. One thing that I have noticed is that cost and price do not go hand in hand.

You got that right. A lot of them sell for a lot less than it probably cost to put them back together in one piece to say nothing of the time involved in tracking down unique convertible parts. The ones from the '40's are just beautiful.
