Any news from Laughlin? Today was the 25 running of the Economy Run by 3 clubs in So Cal on one in AZ. It rained like heck yesterday but today was clear, how did everyone do? Inquiring minds want to know?

Hello Richard,
We had nice weather on Saturday. There were about 29 Hudsons, mostly stepdowns.0 -
Hi Glen, I'm glad to hear that you attended. I hope that you are feeling better. Sorry I missed it, I usually go but too much else going on at the moment.0

The Utah Group (with my wife and I being the last) have returned to our beloved state. We were represented by Glen (as noted above) Mike Cherry in his 1949 Brougham and myself. We did a bit of shopping on the way home and took an extra day to be sure we did not miss a shopping mall.
We left just before nine and did not make it to the "meeting on the grass" to see who won and lost. I am thinking that perhaps Mike was in the running for the longest distance driven--we will have to wait and see when Matt Royer posts or forwards us some photos and the final rankings. I could venture a guess at the best milage (Jet?) but that would not be fair....0 -

A beautiful day sandwiched between two days of rain.

I would like to report that Charlie Wallace, with his '54 HH sporting a most interesting 3 carb. intake manifold with 3 Webers, high comp. head, custom made exh. headers, won the trophy for the WORST mileage, LOL, 13.5 mpg!0

I thought one unfortunate thing about the Avi Casino venue is that the tribe makes one buy a $50 permit to sell anything ergo NO ONE brought anything to sell other than the sponsor chapter selling T-shirts. In the past there would be at least 1/2 doz. guys selling stuff off card tables, etc., sometimes even cars for sale.
I didn't attend the 1st Economy Run meet held at the Avi a year ago but it is a far nicer place than the old River Palms in Laughlin (this Indian casino about 1/2 way between Needles, Ca. & Laughlin, Nv.).
We had an unexpected "touristo", Mr. Wildrick, the "Clutch Guy" ventured out from Indiana, said he had a great time!0 -
Charlie - I think that could be referred to an an "Pyhrric victory", LOL. Oh, you were awarded a last place trophy, which in your hurry to "make tracks" you left behind!!!!!0 -
hope I can download photos of several other outstanding cars, Buzz' '50 C8 cp. with factory blue leather interior & Press' '49 C6 conv. with rare optional Scotch plaid interior0 -
Any pics or details on charlies 54 HH weber setup? who made the headers? very interesting and very nice 54HH!0
