    Will fit on a standard width "car trailer" (fenders are usually about 80" apart), but recommend an assistant to help you center it- its a pretty tight squeeze, and you can't see "where you are" as you drive it on.

    On my trailer, once you have it on, you can't open the door to get out, and I'm not as good at the "Dukes of Hazard Dismount" (through the window) as I once was. The solution is a pair of 2 X 10's, on the trailer deck, to drive up on. That gets it high enough to open the door.

    I always wondered how someone got out of a closed trailer stored Hudson, without a door installed in the trailers side . I have a Tommys open aluminum trailer, with the removable fenders. Back in the 93 Western Regional in Montana some poor soul was not so lucky and quickly removed his rocker panels via the trailer fenders. Tommy Hudson will add a top and bow assembly similar to European trucks for a fair price, but it is one heck of a pain to get out of the car.

    I bought a 22' closed trailer (I sometimes pull something other than a Hudson?) and had special doors installed in the front area. Stepdowns leave about a foot between the fenders.

    A wise collector near me (Glen Johnson) suggested that I go to harbor freight and buy a small wench (I got one about five feet three 100 pounds with a speedo and a tat on her sholder---) Best thing that I ever invested in. I hook it up, and shortly the car is ready to tie down. And I need no spotters, helpers, and ect. It cost me $29.95 on sale (I did not buy the small one.

    A winch might work too, be sure the vehicle is moving straight to where it will be parked. Should be able to dismount prior to entering the closed trailer. Good luck.

    AH! on the rocker panels. My trailer measures 82" between the fenders. Loaded a 52 Hornet in the dark in a driving rain storm. Didnt due the right panel any good. Was able to fix it. Never again.

    A winch is never as fun as a wench, but more effective in this case. Had a hard time posting the photo, it took three times?

    Thanks to you all for helpful informative reply's...Finally received '52 Hornet couple yesterday; one of my major concerns were will car fit into my garage and I am happy to say it barely does.

    Sweet! Those Firehawk Indy 500 tires have been discontinued this year I believe.
    Heard it had something to do with Firestone not re-upping their contract with the speedway. Great looking coupe you have there. Enjoy!

    Thanks for vote of confident with compliments. With two people additional weight in car I am experiencing a little noise when driving caused from 3 inch drive shaft; just purchased another/different new pair of Monroe MA-728 (MAXAIR ADJUSTABLE SHOCKS) and will try to install tomorrow?

    All my friends think (Hudson owners know) Hudson is a great car.

    Need rubber 3 x 2 brake pad, anyone have a good source with immediate delivery, this morning I ordered door weatherstrip from www.restorationspecialities.com item # 4114, fortunately it was in stock and being shipped this afternoon.
