I would like to find:

A couple of stainless side window trim joiners (connect loose ends of trim),

window stops for front door,

one or two thick base gaskets for 2113S or 968S twin-H carbs,

nice fuel tank cap for '54,

I can pay instantly with Paypal if desired.

Doug, I used carb gaskets for a Ford. Part # is fel-pro 60269 and you need 2 for each carb. You may have to ream the holes just a bit to fit over the studs. Any parts store has got 'em. Re the gas cap... I am curious does the 53 stepdowns fit? Those are Ford also 41-48. Alot of those on Ebay.
  • Ron, The gas cap for 1954 is a stand alone cap. Jet caps for 53 and 54 fit but the big stepdown caps from 48-53 are larger and don't fit. Should not surprise anyone working on a 54 . Lots of things WON'T interchange.lol

That's what I thought since I never see em included, but I did not know what cap fit on the 54. So the Jet does...what popular big three fits the Jet? Ah ha! In my never ends search for truth, justice and .... I believe the AC RC-1 is the cap for the 54. Is that right Lance?
  • Well a radiator cap has ears on it that makes it hard to turn in the tight gas door space that the 54 lwb cars had . A cap that has the tabs bent up will work best allowing for more access to turn the cap on and off. Those generally are for gas tanks only. (non pressure)

Yes, many gaskets work for 968S, Carter YF and Rochester monojet, and I have found one. Note: I live near two great places, a big family run auto parts store that caters to farm equipment and older motors and an equipment repair shop with an attic full of old stuff. What will we do when these resources go away?

Well Doug, There are alot of factors that can affect the hobby. Availability of fuels for one. Insurance costs could rise, which could repeat the drop in sales of the muscle cars. Parts could be a problem, but if there is a market for parts, then someone somewhere will make them. It important however that clubs( such as HET) representing the hobbyists remain a media for owners to share knowledge, information and parts locations. We all need to promote HET( as well as other fine organizations) and BE a SALESMAN( lady)for our hobby.Sign up a new member and we all will have a secure future.
  • I still have lots of bits/parts for sale and complete unit as well. Let me know if you are still interested. What's your phone number? r.lugosltd(at)gmail.com
