One of the stops at the Seattle National - 2001 or so - was the LeMay collection. I don't remember seeing a '33 pickup, tho.

True 'nuff, Zander. The recently deceased Mr. LeMay had cars stored all over the area, the the '33 was reported to be stored in another location. However, when we were there they did not have anywhere near a complete inventory and, in fact, were not sure of all the locations he was using when he passed over. :woohoo:

My understanding is that they sold off some of the 3,500+ vehicles old Harold LeMay had and even then they are displaying only a small portion of those they retain. Bill Chapin is on the Board, so hopefully he'll campaign for an HET product. An the '33 truck my be just a myth. Mr. LeMay seemed to be a hit-sand-myth collector. (ouch). Thanks for accessing the list of all the cars, PW...I was blocked because I am not a member of the museum. :cheer:0 -

Lemays collection, when I visited in 2001, was a nightmare for an old car lover. All these beautiful, and some really rare cars, stored in wooden buildings, no fire suppression or alarm systems, open wires running thru insulators. Almost made one cry. A disaster waiting to happen. Fortunately they got everything out before the disaster struck. At least for some of them.
