Temp sender step down 48-50

Hi All

I really need your help regarding temperature sending unit (the one on the cyl. head) for a Commodore 6 1950.

If you put the cable on the sending unit in to ground the instrument goes to cold, on all other cars I know it goes to hot. As I understand the 48-50 differ from newer step-downs?
The only sending unit with this "opposite function" I got so far is Ford flatties but it’s in the wrong resistance range so it will give you wrong reading on the instrument.
My best idea is to use the Ford sensor and do a “calibration” by putting the sender in boiling water and adjust the voltage to the instrument so it shows H when boiling.
I’ve tried to read all old post and done search on the net but all that I can find out is that they are not available anymore??
This thing with the Ford sender might work but please let me know if there are any new or used senders for 48-50 available on the market.

Andreas, this is what I have in my parts list. I can't guarantee it's correct but I got it from some place. Didn't just come out of the air. It's a place to start.
