So sorry to hear of that. But what dummies (aren't all thieves?)! Take the radiator and nothing else?
That kind of reminds me of the thief that opened my toolbox, took out the Makita cordless drill, REMOVED the battery and set it back in the box and took off with the drill. Replacement costs on the batteries are around $100. The drill is actually the cheap part.
Hope you get a lead.0 -
If the police haven't themselves, spread the word to the local recylers. Probably a scrapper scrounging for copper and brass.0

Pretty nice old 40,,cant believe you would leave it out in the weather, to begain with...your raidator is long gone, they dont last long "in the wild" around here either...next step is for kids to jump on top of your car, then knock the glass out..Not trying to be flip about your bad luck, but thats the way it is,,RD0

I did a differential gear change on my 49. I put the empty housing outside the shop ,set it on a couple jack stands and saturated it with Gunk so I could clean it in the morning. Next morning, the housing was gone.. they left the jack stands!0

they said sense i was 6 1/2 hrs away there was not much i could do!if this scum bag hadn't done this my car would be on the road or close to it!
this all happened with in a week of my grandpa dieing-where my car was stored.

One Sunday, I parked my '49 Hudson Commodore at a casino parking lot and went in for breakfast. Came out, and the hubcaps were missing. A week or so later, I stopped at an indoor flea market, and guese what. There were my hubcaps. Asked the vender about them, he said they came from an old Packard and were rare. I found the security guy at the place and told him about the hubcaps. He refused to do any thing as he said the seller was an outstanding citizen and would never lie or steal. We just do not know what will happen when we park our car anywhere. To bad about the radiator, hope you can replace it. Arnie in Nevada.0

You have to remember the policeman's motto: Serve and Protect..................
...........the government that pays their salary, plus the "favored" citizens (re: politicians).
In our area of the (Not so)Free State of Maryland they have instituted a new revenue enhancement program. They indiscriminately pull over commercial vehicles for "safety" inspections. If you don't have a fire extinguisher or a first aid kit they write you nice ticket that carries a hefty fine! Since the owner of the company pays the fine it's really no big deal, right?
SERVE AND PROTECT!!!!!

sorry to hear about your rad, i know those are pretty pricey to replace. the recylclers around here have really gotten out of hand. i recycle a lot of metal every year too but since the price went sky high it's become dog eat dog, and if it ain't nailed down it's fair game. for years i have bought metal at auctions and recycled some and used some so it's not like i look down at it. to ruin stuff for a couple of bucks is the real crime. in the middle of the night someone drive up to my trash with a miners helmet/light on and when i go out and bounce them about it they say they are just looking for metal! i cut the center out of a car wheel and used it as dirt retainer for my water meter in the front yard and someone pried it up out of the ground! that's prob about a bucks worth of short steel and they had to pry it out of the ground.0
