1934 terra plane

As you will soon realize I'm new to all this.

I am in need of some info. Is the 1934 Hudson 4 dr. the same body as the 1934 Terra plane?

the reason I ask is I am in need of both rear fenders and the rear panel that goes right across from fender to fender on the rear.

I've been draggin this terra plane around for about 12 years and decided to try to put it all together but have no idea where to look for decent body parts.

any help would be much appreciated

This reply will bump it back to the top.

Also, you might want to post this on the "main" Hudson board. This is the "discussions" board, for off-topic stuff, and a lot of the guys don't come here (that's why the separate board was created). Yours is a bona-fide Hudson question, and should be on the main board.

I think the first order of business wound be to join the Hudson Essex Terraplane Club. You will then receive the award winning White Triangle news, an excellent resource for all of your Hudson, Essex and Terraplane needs.

Send me an email with your mailing address and I will send you a copy of the White Triangle News and a membership form... you won't regret joining.

My email address - HETForkner@aol.com (Drop the HET), also put Hudson Club in the subject line so that it won't go into the spam file.

How about we just answer the questions? There is FAR more activity in this area of the Hudson forums, so much so that I don't even bother visiting "discussions" or "street rods" but for a rare peek as topics there.

YES, Dobyman, the '34 Terraplane (one word) and Hudson 2 and 4 door sedans all share rear fenders and the rear valance tying them together. The reason is that all sheet metal rearward of the front fenders and hood is totally shared between Terraplane and Hudson (except extra long wheelbase Hudson front doors). They are literally the same body.

Side note: '35 Hudson and Terraplane share too but all '35 fenders are more softly rounded in shape than your '34 fenders. They'll bolt up on a '34 but not be authentic.

By the way, you are now on one of two Hudson websites. This one is maintained by Classiccar, and the other one by the Hudson club (H-E-T), though everyone gets along with everyone else (the Club uses Classiccar's Forum, for example).

However, you might want to visit the Club's official website for access to more Hudson ''stuff'', it's at http://www.hetclub.org/ . There is a link there to the membership page, if you want to join the club, and you can also find the location of the 40+ local chapters of the club.

Does that mean I won't be able to use '35 fender skirts on my '34 as I'd hoped (all the fender skirt suppliers list '35 but not '34) ? I always thought the fenders for the two years were identical.

The fender skirts will fit either model 34 or 35 as the wheel opening is the same, I have done just that on two cars that I owned.
