How to move the seat on a 1927?
Vojin Sevic of the Republic of Serbia, needs to know how to adjust the seat on his '27 Super Six 4-door, so he can fit himself into it! Of course there were no adjustments "back in the day", but how do you tall 1920's Hudson owners remedy this problem?

What type of body? if it s Biddle & Smart there is probably no way the seat can be moved. If a Hudson body he should be able to remove the mounting bolts and move the seat back a few inches, by re-drilling the holes. but this will intrude into the rear compartment space.0

The photos below are of my Dad's '27 Bittle and Smart 4 door Super Six. I meant to get them posted earlier but the holidays interfered.
The seat pivots forward on a pair of front hinges. One half is bolted to the seat frame, the bottom half appears to be bolted to a steel cross member that is less than five inches from front to back. If the bottom hinge was moved back via an adapter bracket of sorts, it would most likely interfere with the battery box just below and to the rear of the driver's side hinge. Personally, I would live with the space. I'm six foot and consider the leg room to be cozy, not cramped! Any farther back and I would loose my leverage to kick in the starter pedal.
Hope the photos help.0
