Sending a PM

OK, a dumb question about sending PM's. I click on the box under the avatar that says send a PM, and after I write a message there is no way to send it. I hit enter on my keyboard the message sits there, I only have two options that I see on the message screen, compose and a x in a circle neither sends the message.There is no "submit" or "send" anywhere that I can see. What am I not doing? Thanks. Richie.

    Richie, Click on the individual's name on the forum who you wish to send a message to. Not everyone has an avatar so just click on their name. Then once that person's profile page comes up, click onto "write a message" which is the fourth icon below their avatar or picture (if they have one) A box should pop up where you can write your message. When you're done writing your message click on "send" and that person then gets your PM. Then you can just click off that persons name and be back on the forum. :)

    Hi Richie

    I just sent you a PM. Did it go thru? There should be two boxes at the right lower corner below the PM message you wrote. One says "Send" and the other "Cancel". If not there I don't know what to tell you. Sometimes the computor does weard things. I had a similar problem not long ago. The problem went away after about a week.

    I think I see the problem- if you start with the little square box at the bottom right of the avatar (which looks like a little cartoon dialog balloon and says "send a private message" when you put the cursor on it), you get a box that allows you to create a message, but no way to send it.

    Mike that is correct. The same thing happens when I go to the PM page, no way to send it. Richie.

    Lance, i get the "write a message" box and put my message in it but there is no send, submit, or cancel, I hit my enter button but that doesn't work either. Richie.

    Lee, I just clicked on your profile page and clicked on "write a message" in the box that popped up I put test as the subject and test in the message area. The box has no way to send it, says compose on top left and an X on top right. Richie. I'm missing something here I guess.

    Richie, I just sent a PM to you.

    Clicked on your name in the avatar, it took me to your profile page. Clicked in Write a Message in the gray bar. Box came up with Compose on the left, circled X on the right, and a send button at the bottom. Sounds like you are coming up with the same box, except for no Send button. No idea why.

    My science teacher said the first step in solving a problem is defining it. I think we have done that.

    What he didn't mention is that sometimes, that's as far as you get. :dry:

    Mike I replied to your PM message and you have described perfectly what my problem is. I just tried a minute ago to send you a PM and cannot as there is no send buttom anywhere in that box. Thanks for helping Mike. Richie.

    So, PM apparently stands for "personal message", not Popular Mechanics!

    Bob I got your PM and answered it, thanks. It looks like everyone has a send button in their "write a message" box, but I don't so there is no way to send it. Richie

    Well actually I think it stands for private message, but I like Popular Mechanics, always have. Richie.

After writing Your Message,You should see at the bottom of the page, a SUBMIT and CANCEL buttons. Click on Submit..
