Racer Tim Flock

Here is a picture of myself with Tim Flock's son Carl (on the right) taken last week at the Easyriders bike and car show in Charlotte. The panel truck in the rear is Carl's and has a painting of Jocko the famous monkey painted on the rear of the vehicle. Jocko was the only monkey to ride along in an actual NASCAR race. I went to the NASCAR Hall of Fame induction ceremonies two weeks ago. Had a chance to talk to a couple of the members that have a vote and was told Tim has a pretty good chance to get voted in within the next couple years. I know many of you Hudson guys are aware that Tim drove Hudson's to many NASCAR wins in Hornets in the early 50's. There is a Hornet race car on display in the Hall of Fame Museum with Tim's name above the door. By the way, my '40 Ford Sedan Delivery won best in show. This was the first show I took it to since it had a new interior installed and was repainted.

Sweet looking truck---the gentlemen look a bit on the shady side?
  • C'mon Brownie, I gave it my best smile.

OK, sorry I got carried away. GREAT LOOKING TRUCK!!! One of the better smiles I have seen....... And, I am sticking with the other comment...

There is a three-day indoor car show (AUTORAMA) in Salt Lake City in about six weeks and I have been thinking about taking the English Hudson to the show. It is mainly a Hot Rod show and they charge $60 to get in. Not sure I'll make it... I think I am a bit cheap... Maybe I need to build a hot rod...

Next time I will have the picture taken with my wife instead of me. I am sure you would do real good Brownie. But, $60 bucks just to get in the show? Folks out your way getting a little greedy?

Here are a few pictures I took today at a NASCAR fund raiser for old time racers. This is Tim Flock's wife Francis and her son Carl. The monkey shown in the picture is "Jocko Flocko". Had a chance to talk to Mrs Flock. She told me she is an honorary HET Club member and still enjoys receiving the WTN. She also said she really enjoyed attending the Hudson Day at the Nascar Hall of Fame last summer. She is aware that many HET Club members have shown support to get her late husband in the Hall while she is still with us to enjoy the honor.
