Good afternoon to whom it may concern (3/2/2012)
My father has a Hudson Essex. We think it is approx 1928. The body shell + chassis are in very good condition apart from missing the vinyl roof. We believe the engine and gearbox to be a 6 cylinder twin spark American Nash fitted with a very nice straight through holly carb. Both axels are possible none original from a 1930/1950 pickup
My dad bought this car about 20 years ago for a project to do when he retires. He has now just reached retirement age but unfortunately has been diagnosed with terminal cancer so won’t b able to do it up/ restore it.
Due to this He would like to sell it off to another car enthusiast /restorer or similar.
Please see attached photos (maybe attached to more than 1 email due to number of pictures) for condition and accessories of the vehicle.
Please pass this email on to anyone who might be interested and then we can arrange viewings ECT. We live in the UK in the Bristol area
Many thanks in advance

If you can come up with a serial number, which is located on a plate on the firewall, engine side, near the top, we can figure out what it is from that.

That's a very busy distributor for a four cylinder.

I thought it was a four myself, but if you open the picture of the engine in the first post and look really close at the firewall end there appears, faintly, to be at least one more wire going from distributor to engine so it probably is a 6, as he says.

There are just so many things I've never seen on an Essex of the 1928 period that I'm wondering if it really is an Essex. The boxy body style is almost like the early 4 cylinder cars - but the radiator shell isn't of the Essex 4 era.

Looks like a 1927 with a 1930 radiator surround. Bonnet not sure A real fruit salad with the Nash engine and other mods!
