Stepdown head light rims

Kim, The parts are the same. Only big difference is when the stepdowns started to use lead plated trim parts vs. die cast parts. Left and right makes no difference.48-53 are the same(LWB) and 54 are stand alone. Pacemaker and Wasp are stainless. Why weren't they ALL stainless?? Who knows? Makes the plates happy though.0

Which ones plate better? How do you tell which is which?:unsure:0 -
Well believe it or not the ones made of lead have the word "lead" near the part number on the inside of the ring. They are also a heavier piece. They rarely pit and usually have old plating peeling off. The pot metal ones can pit and have to have the pits filled with silver solder before being replated. Lead rings are a bit tricky to plate as the temperature for plating gets near the melting temp of lead so a plater who has worked with plating items like this before is your best bet.0
