1954 Hornet Hood Needed In Texas

Hello all,
I am looking for a 1954 Hood, I am talking to a guy in michigan about one but it looks like it is too big to ship via Greyhound so due to my previous experiences with truck freight I am worried that it will be extremely expensive to ship. Does anyone have any leads for a hood in the DFW area? When my car was stolen the hood disappeared sometime in the three years that the car wandered around East Texas before I got it back. Any help would be great, also if anyone is interested in 1954 hydramatic starters I have two that are in great shape. Thanks
Hudson

DId you talk to Jim Guinn? I got my 54 Hood off him.0

Jim Guinn is the way to go. I bought a quarter panel from Stu Coleman, in Montana and Jim picked it up and hauled it to South Texas for $50. Can't be beat!:)0

So does Jim do shipping? Or does he have some parts too? How would I get in contact with him?0

This is Jim's thread in the "Discussion" section of the Hudson board:

Will have his contact info (phone #). He is from N. Texas area, but travels around moving mostly car stuff for folks. He's a Hudson man at heart. Sometimes you have to wait until he hits an area where you need something picked up, but if you are not in a terrible hurry, this is a great option.
Let us know how it works out.:)0 -
He brought my parts up to Canada so he is the best. I had him fill the trailer for me. Got hoods doors, fenders, the 54 sedan body. Engines, Transmissions, rear ends, trim. While he was coming this far I wanted to make it worth the trip. Plus he picked up a car here. Best guy to deal with I would say 75% of the parts i Have for my 2 54's came from Jim.0

Russell,
The thread you pointed to is NOT Jim Guinn. That is an entirely different Jim that transports cars and trailers. Jim Guinn is a great Hudson guy. He has a bunch of Hudsons and parts. The Trulyvintage guy may also be a great guy, but I don't think he is into Hudsons, nor any parts. Jim Guinn's number is 940-389-8997
Don
By the way, I have a couple of 54 hoods that aren't horrible. A little rust in front corners. I am sure Jim would pick up for you on his way through Denver if you can't find one closer.0 -
Thanks for the help, I will call Jim tomorrow and let ya'll know what I find out.0

Right Thread - wrong guy .....
Right now I am hauling a Mustang hood to a guy in Missouri
that I picked up in California ....
The pick up & drop off locations happened to be directly
along my route - I will haul parts if I have room and if the
pick up & drop off locations conicide with scheduled
vehicle transport.

My apologies . . . an assumption on my part. Should have checked my sources.0
