I was just looking in the glove compartment and found an ice scraper from the dealer that my car was originally purchased from:

Long's Hudson Sales and Service
420 Bloomfield Ave.
Newark 7, NJ

My father tells me it's been in there since he bought the car from his uncle (the original owner) back in the late 50's.

Does anyone know anything about that dealer?

In my book "Your Hometown Hudson Dealer" the listing shows that the dealer
was Pasquale Long, and, he was in business from 1934 to 1951.

In "Your Hometown Hudson Dealer", the name is listed as "Long's Inc.". The dealer's owner was Pasquale Long, and they were in operation from '34-'51.

Wow! I noticed Great Hudson minds work alike, and apparently at the same time.

    Thanks.

    Two more questions:

Were there any other dealers in the area?

How do I get a copy of the book?

There's 12 listings in Newark, alone. I don't know NJ that well, so don't know what surrounding towns might be nearby. Sheldon will have to get back on here to tell you how to get a book, but I'm sure the club store sells them.

Ok, so I won't tell you that the dealer was Pasquale Long and was in business from 1934-1951. Everybody else did that.

Isn't it supposed to get cold tonight?

Even if there was a need for it, it's way too cool to use.

I need to find a vendor to get some done advertising my RV park. Something to hand
out to the snowbirds that head back north before Easter...

FWIW - I heartily endorse Sheldon's book, if only from a Historical view point. Sort of interesting to find some of the old dealership buildings when one is traveling and see what they are now, if they are still there.
