I am just wondering what others do to refurbish the dash finish on a Pacemaker. The finish is a type of weave/material pattern - do they recreate this, leave as is, paint over with body paint or maybe paint woodgrain like is on my'28 Essex? If I was to do anything to the original the latter I tend to favour. If this was done it would make sense to do the window frames as well?

Thanks for that, I will look for a pic of the Commodore dash to see how it compares.

  • I know a guy in Washington State who has done his Pacemaker in the original basked weave pattern. He did it himself by buying certain patterns of woodgraining rollers and learned how to do it. His Name is Tim Hubler and his email is: HETblencathrath@hotmail.com . Remove the HET. He seems like a great guy and would probably be able to help you. Rob

I corresponded with a guy named Bill almost two years ago who seems to be able to reproduce the pattern. I haven't gotten mine done yet but I'm planning to get it done when I get that far..

I'll PM you his full name and email address.
  • That would be interesting to see . I understand how they can do the woodgrain but the basket pattern ? I gotta see that done,

If we could find some material that will match or come close to the original pattern then a person might be able to airbrush it on.

check out the video below, its a carbon fiber look made with an airbrush.
