Not my ad. Just posting from our local craigslist. I didn't copy the photos from the ad as they were not actual photos of the car for sale. Norfolk is a NAVY town, the son must be stationed here. The asking price on the ad is $12,500. I'm not in the market, but if it turns out to be a 'vert, someone can send me a finders fee. :silly:

Wow,that is amazing if its true. Thats very unusual if it is actually less than 10,000 original miles. If its as nice as he says it would be $12,500 for a new Hudson!0

Thanks B.I., I just left a message. My brother is on vacation in Myrtle Beach. As soon as I have some news, I will ask him to get some pictures of the car and more info. Hi everyone--- I talked to this gentleman the other day & it seems that this Hudson has two carbs. When I advised him that the 2 carbs. were not an available option until 1951, he told me that this Hudson could be a 1951 for all he knew. Since it is in South Carolina, it is too far away from me to check out. Good luck.---Cliff Minard0

I had, for a brief time, a 1949 C6ClCpe with Twin-H. Well, it did have a 1956 Hornet 308 in the engine compartment.

I had a 1949 C6ClCpe with Twin-H setup. Of course there was a 1956 Hornet 308 in the engine compartment.

Hi Cliff! I took a ride in your 54 last year in Albany ( Eastern Regional). We went to the Saratoga Museum. It would be my first choice for sure! I'm still waiting some answers from this gentleman in S.C. My brother is willing to go and get some pics for me. Will get them posted asap. Ho! Ho! Just talk to the guy. He says he have health issues. The car does not run actualy and needs to be hauled on a car hauler... The car pictured there I have seen somewhere else on some add lately. Will get my brother to see the car and get pics of it. Will post it. Thanks for the infos Harry. That pic he is using is off of Mark Hyman's auction website. So thats not his car. Maybe its as innocent as the car looks like this. But he should say this is not the actual car.0

Hi guys, I told you I would be able to get some pics of the car, my brother being on vacation about half an hour from that place. I took some time cause he had no way to send me the famous pics. To make a long story short, I just bought the car based upon the pictures only and what was told by my brother. Still have a lot to know about and my brother will go to get some more pics before his vacations are through. I am getting ready to take the road and get the car home ( nearly 2000 milesround trip). I have an agreement with the owner that, before I put the car on the trailer and give the final payment, I will do a final inspection as to confirm what was told or was seen on the pics. her is the link to the pictures. Would like to know your best opinion on the car. Paint ( maybe a little rust near the fuel door), chrome and interior seems to be very nice. Questions: Is the interior done as the original one? I suspect this is an older resto. Twin-H: I know this is 51 or younger. My brother should get me the engine number to help. It needs a new fuel pump. Wind lace seems to be vey nice. Something I am wondering: What is that funnel on the right side of the motor? brake fluid, clutch fluid? Again, I asked my brother to look forward to it. Will get pictures from under the car near to driver's seat. Perimeter frame seems ok. I asked pics from the front wheels and driving components like the bushings etc.

Thank you all for the good comments. Usualy, we see a lot of funny things on some cars. Like I said, there is some kind of a plastic jat with some fluid on the driver side of the motor. Any guess? And there must be some more you see that I don't,so, don't be shy my any comments! Michel0

Given my vast experience with Hudsons - I'd say someone installed a wet-clutch reseveouir to make it easier to add clutch fluid?
Really nice barn find, looks like its had several paint jobs on the exterior which could hide a lot of issues..but overall it looks pretty darn solid from the pics.
Love the cobwebs on the inner tires..you know its been sittin a long time!

it's a '48-9 Super 6, and more importantly it's got O.D.!
The Hyman photo is of a Commodore cp. (6 or 8 cyl.?).
Odometer only shows 7K - if that's correct, WOW, you've got a great low mileage original car.
Guy may not have swapped motors, just got a Twin-H set up & put it on 262 block as looks used & unmolested under the hood, just check of engine # will tell.

I agree with Doug someone installed a remote reservoir for the Master Cylinder. The hose goes down to where the master cylinder is. Nice job on that. When you get it make sure the seal on the master cylinder cap is tight and the hose is plumbed in tight.0

I can tell by the pics, door jambs, cowl vent screen.. all look to have been painted. It wouldnt be a deal killer for me, but something to consider depending on your goals as even a sympathethic restoration would probably mean stripping the outside down to bare metal.0

That was my first though,having read that they had 262 in 49 too. But I thought somebody had said you could not have these set up on these sixes. Was a bit surprised cause my 54 Super Wasp has a an original 262 with Twin-H. Can't wait to get the serial number and the engine number. I appreciate all these infos. Will begin with a very deep cleaning and a good revisit of the mechanic.
