This truck (owner) lives out by me. I haven't seen the truck out for years. Good to see it again.

    Hi Victor

It has a Ford 6 cyl. engine. The ribbed aluminum valve cover has HUDSON on top. It has A/C and P/B mounted on the firewall.

I first saw the PU in 1985 setting on the grass of a park while cruising around with my brother-in-law. We took some pictures. It had a different engine in it then. I think it was a V8 Ford. Two years ago I was looking through the Roster for PU owners and contacted someone and he invited me to come over to see his truck. We had a good visit and there was something about the truck that looked familar. When I got home I opened up my photo album and there it was on the front page, same license plate. His name is Ron Knowles. We got together again and I picked up some parts he was ready to let go. I took photos of it and showed Ron the snap shots I had taken 24 years earlier of his PU at the park. Small world.

This is part of email I received from Ron. "I bought it out of junk yard in 1965. It had been stripped and was about to be crushed. Since it had no motor, trans, or glass, putting it on road again was a challenge. We drove it, with a camper, to Olympics in Mexico City in 1968."

It is a very beautiful well done PU And Ron is a very gracious person.

    Have a good day

Hey Lee, you know more on his truck than me. I have to agree on the Ford 6 cyd. The story was that Ron's Dad had it and took the family on vacations in it. I found out about the truck when I was working a car show for the local high school aniversary celibration. I had just picked mine up and saw that there was a '46 on the list. Ron and my wife went to school together and our kids did too. Small world type of thing.

Ron used to be active in local Club events. He was parts manager at a Pasadena Ford/Mercury dealership...must be retired now...:cheer:
