Looking at these pictures again I see original looking carpet and trunk mat for 49. The paint looks like a reshoot I see some overspray but not bad. Not sure about the seat apholstery for the 49's, maybe someone else can comment on that. If the seats are orignal fabric = wow. Hope it all is confirmed upon inspection!!

Maybe just me,but I'm having a hard time buying the mileage shown. My guess is someone got a NOS speedo somewhere along the line and probably about when it the
Twin-H and other work done. The woodgrain doesn't look factory to me and that cardboard behind the rear seat has a gray finish on mine. I don't see a trunk mat.
Definitely deserves some closer scrutiny in my mind.

    could be 107,000 too.
My 2nd car & 1st Hudson was a '49 S6 cp. which I got in summer of '55, hope I can add pic of self with it. Drove it out west to college for 2 years, put on a lot of miles - always hoped I might find a real cherry one to have for nostalgic reasons.

As I said before, it looks to me ( by the pictures) as an older restoration and, like may do, they put the millage back to zero at that time. The question would be now, how much miles had it before the resto? The woodgrain seems "amateur" to me. As I said, I want to look at some points before I put it on the trailer. But, as someone said earlier, a lot of work was done on it. Does the interior seems to be period correct? Good points. Michel

Nice period shot, ole hudsons. You can date it more by the height of the shorts than by the year of the car. We could be arrested today for wearing shorts like these. Lol...slim
  • I had an original 48 Commodore 8 Coupe for a few years and one thing I see on this one is the rear springs dont have the tin covering anymore. A sign it may have been redone My seats also had striped material where this seems to be a solid brown. That in itself means little as you could probably get a variety of coverings. I also agree about the dash woodgrain it looks realy bad. Has either aged badly or has been redone poorly (not that I could do better),

Here are the last news about it: My brother went back to have the seller sign some papers for me. Gave him a list of things to check back but forgot most of all. ( So I fired him! No, it's a joke!) Will receive 20 more pics around next wednesday ( he is on his way back to Montreal). Can't wait for that. Wanted a picture of the title and from the passenger door where is the serial number to compare. (He forgot...)He saw the title and copy the numbers by hand. Too much numbers I think: 994061020311037 ( May be the driver's permit numbers?) ( I was wandering if the first number should be a 4?) As for the motor number, he looked at the driver's side instead of the passenger side and got only:30001CWC. On the title it reads that the actual owner bought the car in 2003 and the millage was 6K. Meaning he drove only 1K in 9 years. The name of the previous owner is on the title but he did not write it. This could have helped a lot. On monday, when I'll be home, I will phone the owner and ask if he can get that to me. Another thing now, since the fuel pump is not working, I suspect, since the car was sitting so long, that the fuel tank, carbs and fuel lines may all have to be cleaned. If so, is there a simple way to do it? That's all the news for now. Here is the link again for the previous pics.

One more thing: He put the keys in the car, stepped on the clutch and let the motor turn for a few seconds. Pumped the brakes a little and the pedal went up.
