Question about 'revitalizing' gaskets.

Hey,
Wondering if anyone knows a trick or magic soulution to soften NOS type gaskets.
Got some that are paper like and some cork like and want to soften them up to see if they are usable.

    Try soaking them in boiling water. I've done that in the past and it kind of works.

    I've used hot ATF before, soak them for a real long time. WD-40 has worked before, again, long soak.

    I soaked my cork valve cover gaskets in hot water. By the time valve adjustment was completed the gaskets had swelled enough to fit the valve covers. Tip suggestion came from Dany Spring before he pulled right inner fender, valve covers and adusted my valves. Before soaking the gaskets, they were not close to fitting the valve covers.

    Also you can buy rolls of cork gasket material. I made side valve covers gaskets from this. I used my Dad's gasket maker. Comes with punches for bolt holes and cutters. Works slick.

    I actually warmed up some Marvel Mystery Oil and soaked them and that seemed to do the trick. Guess we will see how they hold up.
