  • Very sweet machine Dave! Love the lighted "Hudson" on the tailgate. Are those digital taillight lenses?

Coming along nicely Dave. Is the HUDSON script on the tailgate lighted from below? Can't quite tell.
  • to repeat the question, how did you do the tailgate lights ? they're super

Thanks for kudos. The tailgate lettering is not lights. It is red reflective tape from NAPA that was cut to cover letters on tailgate. The reflection is from flash on camera and is the same way they show with headlights shining on them. (Ken Schulte spent 2 hours carefully cutting them to match tracing of letters) The tail lights are 12 volt 40 bulb LED lights.

As usual, Dave's stuff is first class!

LED lights work great. I used the 12 volt single lamps from Advanced Auto Parts, along with the 1157 dual filament bulbs in the rear of my 49.1157 upper and LED lower. The LEDs are wired parallel with the turn and brake lights. Very bright. They worked good with the Super tail lights and even better now that I have the Commodore upgrade. Now the people behind me know I am stopping! The LEDs alone won't work with the turn siginals. Not enough current flow to make the flasher work correctly, so i just wired them across the original lights.
