    In the 60s and 70s my family would go
    east every year to Docs Meet and the nationals. We would take 2 to 4 Hudsons all with CBs. Drive straight through and stay awake talking to each other and the truckers. 90% of the time the truckers thought they were Mercurys. Once they found out they were Hudsons they always knew someone that had one. We always said if that was the case they would still be in business. The one thing that was consistant was they all owned Hornets and always told use how fast they were, as if we didnt know. lol Kelly H. from Texas put a sign in the back window of his jet he was trailering in large white letters "THIS AINT NO DAMM FORD" lol

    I have a sign in the rear side glass of my 51 Pacemaker coupe that says "THIS AIN'T A CHOPPED MERC"

    I have seen several Hudson step-down street rods that look a lot like Mercs of that era. It's almost as tho the builder couldn't find a Merc, so built a Hudson to look like one. This Hollywood, from the front view, does look a bit like a Merc.

    Tho it's a beautiful car and a great custom job, it is a shame he had to use such a rare car as a Hollywood.

    Didnt the 48 stepdown come out before the similar shaped Mercurys? 1948

    Who Knew? All this time,I've been going up to Merc owners and complementing them on their"Really nice Hudson"...:whistle:

    Yes Hudson beat them by a year. The Merc used old technology with it's flat windshields. They didn't correct that until 52.
