awesome project!!! Looks like a jet!
All these projects like this are a war of attrition. Just keep picking at it a little at a time....day by day and in a year, you'll look back and say "wow....it's looking pretty damn good". That'll give some inspiration to keep going. These kind of projects are not a weekend effort, more of a long time commitment....just keep pounding away at it and you'll see progress!
Keep us posted and send pics as you go. We'll provide a lot of encouragemetn :-)

Yup, looks like the tin worms have been busy.
The late Cousin Jim used to say 'look in your own back yard', so I went to the woods and liberated the trunk pan from the 46 Brougham, trimmed it a little and put in in my 40 coupe.
I cut a piece of cardboard to size and used it for a pattern for the front floor pan, (found the sheet metal in the shed that somebody had cut for a truck bed.)then made a hump 'b'guess and b'gosh. These are scarcer'n'hens teeth.
You can buy floor pans from a supplier that advertises on eBay but easier and the same price at Rockauto.com. Online catalog, Hudson, Jet, exterior body parts (for some reason) lists the floor pans at roughly $50 a side.0 -
It is a jet, a 54 2dr jetliner, thanks for the posts,

Hello Gene!
Wow! she's a rusty one.
ITS a ton of work fixing rust on these old unibody gems, and you'll find more areas rusted out than you can see now.
Anyone know the availability of this model Jet?
Honestly - if it's not an extemely rare model..and knowing what I know now of Hudsons...I'd seriously look for another car thats not so rusted out.
I spent hundreds of hours on my 49 replacing rusted out areas, floorpans, trunk...If I had to do it all again..I'd find a better body to start with!

Hudson, 54, Jet, Body Esterior, Floor Pan
I'd stay with the 202. Got yourself a lot of work with the transplant, but it's your car. Don't kill yourself with it.0 -
I sold a jet to an older gent in our local Hudson club. Been aitting for years and in two weeks he was driving it around his neihborhood.
His other car is a Hornet (262 motor) and he could not believe how peppy the little 202 was.
My point is a lot of folks love the cars . On the other hand if you pull it out and put a 308 in (can we say dig a hole in the firewall). Then dont just give away the motor. Those manifolds are quite prone to failure and a good one is getting hard to find. Last one I had sold to someone cracked right before my eyes as I unbolted it.

all of the rust is contained to the floor pans. all other places look good. getting it apart more every day. the rust on the body is surface. I am going to need a set of door hinges, drill one out, and had to cut the other. I will try to post some more pictures, don't know about the new format.0

I seem to remember someone posting here offering that Hudson valve stems could be cut to make hinge pins. Check with Lance Walker for used replacements.0 -
thanks, but I had to cut one hinge to get the door of. need a pair of good hinges
