Looking for one late-style twin-h air cleaner and a twin-h trunk badge. Looking for one close to the one I have -patina wise - if possible. Badge just needs to be close to the other badges I have, semi-rough driver quality let's say. Not in a rush - gotta wait till payday...

If by "badge" you mean the decal on the air cleaner, I have a couple listed on my Hudson repro parts webpage, at http://www.detailedconcepts.net/Repro_Table.pdf . Jason, at Vintage Coach, offers one, and there is a fellow in Ontario, Canada that sells several Hudson decals.

Or did you mean you're looking for the actual air cleaner, and a Twin H-Power trunk badge?

The trunk badge. I've been offered an air cleaner, so I'm good there.

You are welcome. It was great to see your car on the road.

    GrimGreaser-

I know K-Gap carries the trunk badges, but seeing as how that is a catch-as-catch-can proposition, may I offer the following:

I see by your avatar that it says, "Mech. Eng./Shop Rat". Why not carve a dozen or so up and sell 11 of them? Not only would you have one for your car, but it would be paid for and you'd have some extra Hudson money, to boot. B)

Well, I still need one to dimension from... Besides, if it's 'too nice' it'll throw off the 'look' I'm going for. :)

Also, that would be and expensive item to have machined, the letters get pretty involved with small radius cuts. Though, fender and trunk rockets may be 'reasonalble' to have machined since the details are fairly shallow, I would have to pick my CAD/CAM buddies brain. Hmm...

I've been hearing about those 3D printers. Could this be a job for them?

Badges and emblems would be perfect for 3D printing - the technology is at the point where just about anything can be scanned and printed. The printers are getting cheaper too. One-offs are also a lot more economical. Hmm...

I'm sure we can get a good candidate into your hands if you decide to take this project on. Also, you would have no problem selling a small batch to re-coup the cost of making them. KG gets $120.00 for these. If you could make them and sell them for 85-100 (which is more reasonable), I'd venture to say you could have promises on them before you even had them available. I'd be up for one, anyway. And I have one that could be used as a pattern (very good one).

    Call me if you wish-
