    I hope you are sitting down when you find out how much the bearings cost. Occasionally I see them on Ebay for under $80, but expect to pay more than $100ea. I have found some before at old, independent auto parts stores......good luck. It might be cheaper to change out your rear end to a later model (52-54).

    I believe it's actually a 25877T, isn't it? Not so easy to find, but don't panic and buy the $900 one you have to special order from your parts house! A few Hudson guys have NOS, and are willing to sell reasonably. Or, find a good used one, it will probably last for tens of thousands of miles (but get a used spare to carry around, while you're at it!)

    I have a used axle with a new (20 years ago ) bearing on it.
    I carried as a spare , a pretty good gaurantee you won't need one.
    I have no need for it now , the car is gone.
    $40.00 plus shipping, axle and bearing.

    Used diffs come up for sale occasionally. You might find a good pair of used brgs, as well as a better diff ratio. Now that would be like being kissed by a fairy, if you know what I mean. Barry

    Hi,

    I believe that the gentleman's name is Jim. He runs a bearing and seal source in NC.
    I purchased my 49 bearings and a spare set of inner oil seals from him. Pricing was reasonable. My neighbor has used him several times for old cars including a 1932 Chevrolet with tapered bearings. Give him a call and see. Very old fashioned service. He shipped to me with nothing down and my promise to mail him a check.

    You might want to check rockauto.com. They list the 25877 bearing. It is not listed as a 25877T but it does show the bearing as a tapered bearing and covering the years that includes your car. It is $11.00!

    Be sure you can return it if it doesn't fit, though! I'd be wary of anything without the
    "T" at the end!

    The 25877 is only tapered on the outside. The 25877T is tapered on both the outer race and the inner race to fit the taper of the Hudson axle. The 25877 will not fit the axle.

    25877 and the 25877 T are different numbers. Sometimes parts books have cross referenced the this # to one in the same-but they are NOT the same. Ol Car bearing as listed here has them,his name is George Bachleda. He also has hard to find seals. hope this helps, CG

    Did you ever find the bearings you needed? I was looking for a couple parts, and came across a couple new 25877T bearings. I did not, however, find what I was looking for..... :(

    25877 bearing will fit but wont work. My brother tried them 40+ years ago by mistake on his 50 pacemaker. We went to Kansas City to a Hudson meet and he complained all the way down about his car being squirelly on the road. He parked sideways on a hill and the next moring the grease from his axel had run onto the parking lot andclear under the car next to him. We teased him for years about it. 25877T not 25877. Oh for those young days when we were young andstupid. LOL

    I "threw in the sponge" and bought one of the bearings on line (thanks for pointing this out). Priced seemed too good to pass up. My present spare 25877t was made in Italy and this one I purchased is a Timken made here in the U.S.
