1954 Hudson jetliner 3D sedan (Chrome assembly )
I'm Having trouble with the chrome siding re-assembly. The car was all re-chormed by origional owner but the car itself came in boxes with all the chrome off. I also have no hardware (Bolts etc...) the owner said most of them broke off.
Looks like the chrome siding does not bolt on like im missing a slider or do they stick on. (siding for rockers and doors.)

You need the mounting strips that the stainless trim clips over. This is held on the body with small self-tapping screws.0

Hey; I too am restoring a jetliner, I am taking the easy way out, I'm not puting it back on.
I had to replace the out side frame rails, do you have some pictures?

Hey Gene I do have lots of pics of the car. And thanks Geoff C. I seem to not have the mounting strips and not sure of where to look to buy some. I would like to put the chrome back on since it was all re-done cost the origional owner a little over $6000 to get it all done.0

The mounting strips can be made by any good sheet metal shop out of galvanised sheet and folded to shape so that the stainless trim just clips over the edges. I can supply a small sample if you want, as a pattern. Another alternative is to glue them on as is done with lots of modern vehicles.0
