that's what I mean, the 2 1/2" plug for the floor. I found them somewhere. McMaster has plastic hole plugs to 2 1/2", but I think I found the metal ones too.

I grabbed you the wrong piece ,I see now what you want - the round ones .I will check again for those .Should have some of them too,

How about this , is this what you are after? Its hard to see in the photo but all the little tabs are there that hold it in,

Roger - I could use one of those plugs for my '54. How do I get in touch with you. Also, in some '54's they had a larger rubber plug that you would remove from the carpet to get to this metal hole plug. Do you have any of those?
