  • Just wondering where you're located? I own a '39 Country Club 8 Convertible Coupe. Is yours a convertible coupe? Or the convertible brougham? The brougham is the one with rear seat.

    Watties,
The small side grills are almost non existence. I've only seen a couple that didn't need repair in the past 20 yrs. Radios show up on ebay now and then. I have a convertible coup model 92 and mine have been repaired. Good luck with you search.

i live in adelaide australia mine is a model 95 built factory right hand drive, i think its the coupe, but it does have a back seat...i posted some pics here some time ago. do you have any pics of you huddo.
  • mine also has a delux badge on either side of the front engine panels. is yours restored as mine is not. I am trying to trace the history of the vehicle here in australia.
  • I have 2 Grill sides that I have not yet decided if I am going to use them.
I would consider wheeling and dealing for a grill!
  • Wattie, your car is a Convertible Brougham. Good luck finding side grills. Do you have repairable pieces now? Or no side grills at all?

I have a 39 aslo and I have not been able to locate those grills at all. I am having mine made by a machinist. Good luck!
  • i have a few pieces left of the two side grills, apart from that i have all the other chrome and trim..i will keep an eye out for a centre grill if you are willing to wheel and deal. i know they turn up from time to time. can you post a pic of you vehicle so i know what type of grill you need. How do you know mine is a brougham , as i poster some pics with the HET club and this is the first time someone has identified it as a brougham. i have a few news paper advertisments that show a brougham but they look different to mine.
  • just bought an original 39 hudson heater....

    ArkieJazz,
Great looking project. Coming along very nice.
  • Wow, this is the first time i have seen another 39 like mine, looking at the pic's they could be sister vehicles almost identical in condition..here are a few pics from the seventies when my huddy found a new home and narrowly missed the car crusher...Arkie is yours a 95 model and was it all there when you rescued it. I see yours has floor shift, mine is column shift and was built right hand drive. I have a heap of service and other literature on the 39 huddo that i have collected over the years...if i can help with anything let me know. I know there are still a few 39 hudsons being wrecked here is Australia.
  • Wattie, yes, mine is a model #95. However, our cars are different in that yours is the brougham model convertible and mine is the convertible coupe. Note the shortness of the rear deck on your car as compared to mine. Your convertible top would have had quarter window screens which folded down with the top. Mine had no back seat and no quarter window screens.
  • Thanks Arkie
The more i talk to other hudson owners the more i learn about my hudson.I have never noticed the difference in the decks before. i have been trying to find out what the interior and convertible top would have looked like. I have never seen a picure of either in any of my literature. Any idea how many of the broughams would have been made and have survived. i know i was told there was only a hand full of 95 models in exhistance. Would you be able to shed any light on the extra trim mine has on the side & the delux badge, it all seems to be original.
  • I do have a few factory photos which I'll try to scan soon
  • I have just found some one parting out 2 "39" hudsons here in australia, i will see what he has left of the vehicles. Hopefully he has the two front grills.
