modern thermostat install
I can't seem to find the discussion and picture of the modern replacement of the old thermostat on a 54 hornet 308. As I recall you buy a cup freeze plug and drill a 1/8 in hole in the middle and buy a modern thermostat to improve the water cooling. Would someone please tell me what size plug to get and the thermostat to buy (probably get a fail safe). Thank you for your suggestions.

I have Walt's bypass kit on my 52 Hornet and it works great. Never gets close to running to hot. Lee O'Dell0

My Hornet's problem was not warming up very readily and running very cool coming down a long hill ... tough to get good heat from the heater. Walt's kit solved that problem, too.0
