Irishmans Rally NewZealand
Hi there.
Thought these pics might be interesting to members . They are pics of a mid winter Rally Held in the South Island of NewZealand each year. Hope the pics come out. Three of the pics are of early Essex cars and the other is a picture I took through the screen of the 29 Nash showing the mountain road we were travelling on.

Great photos Trevor. Looks like similar roads to the Molesworth and Rainbow trip two years ago - maybe even more rugged. Can you send me someting on this to go in the next Triangle issue?0
-
The Roadster pickup is a Model A.
Alistair will do. More rugged and steep than the molesworth but similar to the rainbow0 -
Thanks.0

Love these pics - the old cars are doing what they were built to do. I have to admit thinking about the picture thru the windshield showing the road made me a little queasy - scary to think about going down that narrow one lane mountain road with only mechanical brakes between you and the the great beyond!!! LOL

Another 'big trip' is being planed for the last week in October this year to get to the NZ HET AGM (National meet). I've got a spare seat in the 28 Essex Coupe & could probably find other seats in early HET products if folk wanted to come over!!0

Its interesting that you say that about the brakes Alex. As you know the Essex roadster only has rear wheel brakes and coming down the other side of this mountain it took off and did a complete 360 narrowly missing a gate post gave the driver quite a fright in fact he is still talking about it three weeks later. Exciting EH !!!!!!!!!!!! By the way how did I get to be an expert advisor what I know about mechanics could be written on the back of a postage stamp.

Those labels (Expert Adviser, et al) are based on forum activity.0

Definition of an "expert" - anybody that's more than 25 miles from home. I read that somewhere a while back. Not quite sure what it means. LOL
